Developing a series of themes, the experimental range prominently featured flocked denims, high-definition laser etched motifs and even patterned laser distressing.
“My inspiration for this collection was the specific atmosphere of Los Angeles, its relaxed vibes and love of excess and ornamentation,” Paolo Gnutti told Inside Denim. The soft fuzzy texture of flocking is used as a ground for elaborate laser-etched motifs and delivers cosy comfort in oversized proportions and tracksuit-derived styles.
Mr Gnutti’s approach to flocking is to make sure it does not mask the authentic texture and feel of denim. “You want to see the slubs and weave pattern,” he said.
Other deluxe finishes featured in the collection include leather look foil prints, paper touch coatings, plaster effect coatings, and even a faux stingray leather achieved by 3D drop-shaped appliqués filled with gold or silver glitter.
“It is a wonderful moment for us to inspire the whole industry with the most revolutionary technological innovations, highly profiled to the unique needs of the luxury segment and we know that Paolo’s creative touch will bring out the very best of Isko denim’s qualities,” said Marco Lucietti, the company’s head of strategic projects.
