Garmon Chemicals reveals easyfoam bleach

Garmon Chemicals, a San Marino-based textiles auxiliaries unit of Kemin Industries which specialises in the manufacturing of chemicals for denim processing, recently revealed a new foaming agent: easyfoam bleach.

Discussing its smart foam technology, first announced in 2019, global sales director Luca Cappellini revealed that the technology is now installed on five continents and in 2020 alone helped save the denim industry 4.5 million litres of water.

Further, Mr Cappellini described smart foam as “at the level” of pumice stones, meaning that by using its enzymatic washing technology (with no pumice), it is possible to match the level of abrasion produced via a standard mild treatment requiring pumice stones.

Compared to generic partial water-saving systems, Mr Cappellini said that smart foam saves up to 73% of water.

The manufacturer’s new foaming agent, easyfoam bleach, reportedly improves upon Garmon’s easyfoam (the foaming agent that powers the company’s patent-pending smart foam) technology to a significant extent. Effectively, the easyfoam bleach dosage now allows for around a third less consumption of easyfoam during bleaching treatments.

Regarding smart foam, Garmon is encouraging use of the hashtag #madewithsmartfoam on social media, in order to discover new styles and inspirations, as well as monitor customer feedback on the technology.
