‘Undo all dyes’: Mud unveils ‘undyed’ denim

Netherlands-based B Corp Mud Jeans has launched “undyed” denim - that is, garments that have not been dyed with the typical indigo (or any other pigment), whether chemical-based or natural.
The company described its no-dye denim as the “most sustainable” kind, given that, according to the Dutch enterprise, not dyeing the fabric reportedly saves roughly 6,474 litres (or 92%) of water and 17.3 kilograms’ worth (the equivalent of 74%) of carbon dioxide emissions per garment.
Mud Jeans co-owner Dion Vijgeboom announced the denim brand’s interest in a no-dye collection while speaking during Kingpins24 Canada last autumn.
“Undo toxic dyes. No, undo all dyes,” is the collection’s slogan. The range stretches to “undyed” denim trousers, skirts, shorts and jackets, all available now.
