Enzyme engineering at work
Enzyme-based processes can generate the worn-in look and feel of traditional bleaching and stonewashing without damaging the denim fabric and in near waterless conditions.

These milder, safer and more sustainable alternatives to some of the harshest chemicals and processes used in garment washing could make some of the industry’s worst pain points history.

In the latest issue of Inside Denim, and in our online features section, we look at some of the recent developments in the field from companies including Kaiser Tekstil, Garmon Chemicals, Novozymes and Soko Chimica.
