Soko presents new waterless solutions J-REX and J-LUX
Italian chemicals company Soko Chimica presented two new solutions for the denim industry at the latest Kingpins show in Amsterdam. SokoStone J-REX is a brand-new alternative to pumice stones which the company says creates very natural used effects with minimal back-staining.

SokoStone J-REX can also be used with synthetic stones to increase the level of abrasion, but even without these, Luca Braschi told Inside Denim that it is much effective than conventional enzymes. “It offers just the right balance between abrasion and cleansing action,” he said.

SokoStone J-REX can be optimised by a combined use with Soko J-LUX, in the same step, without the addition of water. It will increase the abrasion look by discharging the colour shade and cleaning, said Mr Braschi.

The company thus combines two features in a single step, abrasion and cleaning, both in waterless conditions.

For manufacturers looking to achieve authentic aesthetics with minimal use of water and harmful chemicals, Soko now offers a full suite of products combining the new J-REX and J-LUX with LUMIA. This leads to a significant reduction in water consumption (up to 50%) and makes it possible to avoid the use of permanganate, hypochlorite and pumices while achieving a premium look.
