SFI ‘thrilled’ with Yeezy Gap and Balenciaga outcome
Star Fades International (SFI), the Los Angeles-based design studio and denim laundry owned by Pakistani mill Artistic Milliners, contributed significantly to the development and realisation of denim and knit articles from the recent Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga collection, the company has revealed.

SFI commented that it had worked directly with the Yeezy Gap design team on the denim washes and knits in the line, stating that it was “pretty thrilled” with the results.

Gap said that the eight-piece, limited-edition “creative exploration” was co-conceived of by Ye (the artist formerly known as Kanye West, also known by the nickname Yeezy) and Demna (Balenciaga’s creative director, Demna Gvasalia, now commonly referred to by his first name only) and constitutes a reflection of their shared vision of more utilitarian design.

The collection’s denim jackets and jeans, logo t-shirts and hoodies “pay tribute to Gap’s timeless American icons, rendered anew in wash, hue and silhouette,” it added.

Gap announced its collaboration with Ye’s Yeezy brand to form a Yeezy Gap division in June 2020. The team first teased its collaboration with Demna back in January.
