Bluezone and Transformers form ‘unexpected alliance’

Munich-based denim trade show Bluezone has joined hands with industry innovation platform Transformers Foundation, headquartered in New York, on what the two parties described as “something special”.

Transformers is now due to deliver two educational sessions on sustainable denim on both August 30 and 31, the dates of the next Bluezone.

Each will involve presentations, discussion and networking inspired by topical themes, including low-impact energy on the first day and a round-up of “vetted” (ie, not greenwashed) innovations on the second.

Founder of both Transformers and fellow denim trade show Kingpins, Andrew Olah, describe his great sense of pride in the “long overdue” collaboration. “The more our industry collaborates, the more we can bring sustainable change to the denim industry,” he said.

Managing director of Bluezone and sister exhibition Munich Fabric Start, Sebastian Klinder, expressed similar sentiments: “We are super excited and very honoured to host Transformers Foundation in Munich as [a] real partner. We see huge potential and opportunity in this unexpected alliance and take the chance to prove what we can achieve with collaboration in these current times.”
