Good American gets physical
Size-inclusive fashion brand Good American, based in Los Angeles, has revealed plans to open its debut own-brand brick-and-mortar flagship store in the first quarter of 2023.

The site of the boutique, which will be located on the upper level of outdoor shopping mall Westfield Century City in its hometown, has already been wrapped with monochromatic, denim-heavy advertising as both a hint of what is to come and a way of shielding the yet under-construction activity within. Stockist Bloomingdale's will be a close neighbour.

Launched by co-founders Khloé Kardashian and Emma Grede in 2016, Good American only allows retailers to purchase its denim, ready-to-wear and swim ranges wholesale if they commit to stocking its full US 0 to 32+ size range, and without dividing this into “plus” or “straight” categories. The brand, which also offers footwear, currently counts Saks Fifth Avenue, Revolve, Selfridges, Harrods and Nordstrom as among its retail partners.

The creative concept behind Good American’s new footprint involves “delivering an even more inviting, accommodating and empowering space for women to shop”, it said.

Two further stores are already set to follow in the brand’s Century City footsteps.
