Officina39 unveils Smart Black at Bluezone
Italy-based chemicals supplier Officina39 has introduced a new, single-step process for bleaching black denim fabrics, without the need for caustic soda.
The solution, called Smart Black, was developed entirely in-house, the company said. It has a processing temperature of only 10 degrees Celsius (or 50 degrees Fahrenheit), works on stretch fabrics and does not stain buttons, zippers or press studs, for example.
What is more, Smart Black can contribute to water savings of 60%, according to its manufacturer, as it can be applied in a single step, in under 30 minutes.
Officina39 can be found at Booth 02, Hall 5, at Bluezone until January 25, where its spring-summer 2024 collection, Multicolor Denim Dreaming, is on display, exhibiting a wide range of the company's eco-minded dyestuffs, pigments and other specialist technologies, to help partners “consume less and reuse more”.
