Isko zaps virgin content with Ctrl+Z
Turkey-based mill Isko is putting the focus on its new Ctrl+Z range of denims that are made from 100% recycled or regenerated fibres. It is an invitation to hit undo, as its name suggests, and centres on blends of recycled cotton, recycled polyester and regenerated cellulosic fibres, also known as man-made cellulosic fibres.

From this baseline, the company does open the door to other low-impact natural fibres such as kapok, linen or hemp, and even cashmere. These fibres provide added lustre or softness, and go to prove that recycled content can also be part of a premium offering. The fabrics have the look and feel of traditional denims and compromise neither on quality nor on performance, the company said. They may even be longer-lasting than conventional denim fabrics.

The Ctrl+Z concept can be applied to all of the mill’s references, in either stretch or rigid qualities. “This is not just a new product range, but a part of the company’s plan to switch 100% of its production to sustainable fibres by 2025,” company spokesperson Keith O’Brian told Inside Denim.

Isko’s booth at Bluezone in Munich, on today and tomorrow, features two other key ranges: the new stretch Reform denims and Paolo Gnutti’s latest Isko Luxury Born to Amaze designs.
