Maritas looking forward to first regenerative cotton harvest
Turkish denim mill Maritas, based in Kahramanmaras, has told how it is excitedly counting down the days until the inaugural harvest of its “joyful cotton” crop in Harran on October 11.
This initial harvest and related festivities will herald the next phase of the producer’s Regenerative Cotton Project alongside Harran and Gaziantep universities, which circular economy non-profit Ellen MacArthur Foundation spotlighted in a case study this past summer.
According to Maritas, the collaboration marks the first university-industry partnership of its kind.
Their work together is supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) and verified by its TUBITAK 1505 programme.
