True Religion rounds up a ‘Team True’
The Y2K-era jeans brand is tapping today’s cultural icons as part of its growth plan, to achieve revenues of $500 million, and following on a second bankruptcy in 2020.

The LA-based brand’s distinctive two-stitch-per-inch details inspire stand out personalities who have joined its newly launched Team True.

The team has been launched with a selection of 21 individuals from the world of sports, music, film and fashion. These include Snoop Dog’s son Cordell Broadusand reality TV star Zay Wilson. WNBA athletes Lexie Brown from the Los Angeles Sparks and Dana Evans, guard for the Chicago Sky as well as basketball players Boogie Ellis and Sheldon Bailey, track and field MVP Nyree Brown and MMA fighter and DJ Patrick Cornett are members along with it-girls India Love Westbrooks and MonaLeo.

“Team True exists as a community of cultural icons and content creators who ‘truly’ resonate with our core consumers,” said Kristen D’Arcy, the brand’s head of marketing. “They are enthusiastic friends of our brand whom we’ve brought onboard not simply to outfit, but, more importantly, to hear their ideas and incorporate them. We’ve gotten some incredible insights on everything from potential collaborations to philanthropic opportunities.”
