Pakistan-based vertical jeans maker Soorty is expanding its ongoing partnership with Swiss traceability platform Haelixa to bring more transparency and security to jeans made from recycled cotton.

Haelixa’s invisible DNA-based tracer will be embedded in the mill’s Second Life fabrics which are made from post-industrial or post-consumer waste. The marker is said to remain readable throughout all manufacturing processes.

Soorty, which is also a member of the Denim Deal, is committed to increasing recycled content in jeans. “By enabling reliable authentication and traceability throughout the lifecycle of the product, we’re solidifying our claims while also empowering our brand partners to meet their targets with proof,” commented Eda Dikmen, head of marketing & communications for Soorty.
