Soorty highlights investments in cotton production

Pakistan-based manufacturer Soorty showcased its organic and regenerative cotton initiatives at the two-day Pakistan Agriculture Coalition’s expo at the Karachi Expo Centre.
Salim Ullah, the deputy governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, inaugurated the event.
Soorty’s commitment to sustainability extends to its support for local farmers. On the sidelines of the conference, company officials told Inside Denim that they source organic cotton from Naal (Khuzdar), Balochistan, regenerative cotton from Bahawalpur, Punjab, and regenerative organic cotton from Lasbella, Balochistan. This support, in the form of technical and financial aid, ensures a steady supply of sustainable fibre while uplifting the farming communities.
To maintain uninterrupted production, Soorty imports cotton in addition to domestic procurement. The company currently produces 9 million meters of fabric and 4.5 million garments per month in Pakistan and Bangladesh.
