Soorty’s New York SpaceD showcases power of collaboration

Denim producer Soorty Enterprises hosted its second biannual SpaceD event in New York, themed ‘Collectively Better: Shaping Future Possibilities’.

As part of the event, which also included a trends presentation by Miles Johnson, the Pakistan-based company highlighted some of its most recent collaborations:

Soorty x Lycra Company on ShapeSync: Lycra’s technology provides an invisible targeted shaping solution that caters to all sizes, shapes, and body types. Soorty is Lycra’s exclusive pilot strategic innovation partner in Pakistan and currently the only vertical manufacturer on the project.

Soorty x Lenzing: The capsule collection emphasises circularity and durability, featuring indigo modal for deeper shades, Ecovero Refibra for enhanced circularity, and blends of Tencel and Second Life, Soorty’s recycled cotton solutions brand.

Soorty x Tonello x Officina39: This partnership showcases how smart chemicals from Officina39 and advanced machinery from Tonello are used to produce sustainable denim products.

Eda Dikmen, senior marketing and communications manager at Soorty, said: “Soorty is collaborative by nature; we deeply value our partnerships within the denim community. SpaceD was designed to be a platform to celebrate these bonds, and it has successfully achieved that. By working closely with industry leaders and creatives from around the world who share our vision for the future, we are creating a kinder version of denim that aligns with our shared goals for sustainability and progress.”

Andrea Venier, managing director of chemicals company Officina39, added: “We love to explore the possibilities of our products and processes combined with the innovative technologies of leaders companies in the market. Together, with creativity and expertise we created a unique collection.”
