The special finish can have a high gloss sheen or a softer matte lustre, and does not mask the twill texture of the underlying fabric. “Our City Glam fabrics are very soft to the touch, they really do not feel like a coating,” Asli Can, Isko’s head of R&D product development, told Inside Denim. The mill has developed three different nuances: deep blue, brown and black. The coating is applied to a series of different fabrics, including a very fluid pure Tencel satin twill along with blends of cotton with other fibres. In this latter case, Ms Can said that “nearly every Isko fabric, pretty much 98% of our collection, now includes a portion of recycled fibres”. Both the recycled cotton and recycled polyester fibres are supplied by Re&Up, also a Sanko-owned company.
