LEED Platinum for Levi’s DC
Levi Strauss & Co.’s Henderson distribution centre in Nevada has been recertified as a Platinum Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building.
This designation measures the building’s energy and water efficiency and management, indoor environmental quality and systems that promote wellbeing for people and ecosystems.
The DC’s solar panels provide about 20% of its energy and it achieved a 93.4% waste diversion rate last year.
Mark Yateman, compliance manager at LS&Co, said: “Our Northampton distribution centre in the UK has also achieved certification for its waste diversion efforts. We’re also using ECO fuel to power our ocean freight wherever possible, meaningfully reducing emission output from shipping.”
The company aims to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
