The World Economic Forum (WEF) has singled out Bangladesh’s Denim Expert manufacturing plant for an honourable mention in the Excellence in Sustainability category of its New Champions awards initiative. 

New Champions recognises excellence in sustainability, digital disruption and agile business governance. 

Denim Expert’s honourable mention comes after the organisation set sustainability goals and targets across several areas in 2019, including reducing energy and water consumption, carbon dioxide emissions and waste generation. 

The WEF also noted Denim Expert’s work with USAID to provide human trafficking survivors and transgender people with opportunities.
