Fresh threads: Crescent Bahuman launches ‘deodorising’ denim
Lahore, Pakistan-based denim manufacturer Crescent Bahuman recently announced the launch of “deodorising” denim, made using Japanese technology group Asahi Kasei’s Roica CF elastane fibre, described as an “odour-neutralising stretch solution” on the latter company’s website.
Roica CF reportedly harnesses silver ions to absorb the “main” odour-causing substances - including ammonia, acetic acid and isovaleric acid - which cause sweat to smell. By using it in a denim blend, jeans maintain their freshness and stay “clean and comfortable”, Crescent Bahuman said.
The denim mill further described its new deodorising range as the “ultimate” in breathability, combining quick-drying fibres with moisture management to keep the wearer cool, as well as giving them more freedom to move through the denim’s stretch properties.
