Candiani’s Coreva available to all

Milan-based denim producer Candiani has made its patented Coreva stretch technology available to all clients.

The company had received “countless” requests for the yarn, a press release said.

After initially launching Coreva in collaboration with research and development partner Denham the Jeanmaker in November 2019, only a select group of brands including Stella McCartney, Closed, Kings of Indigo and Hiut Denim had been permitted to use the technology in their collections up until March of this year.

Coreva yarn, “the world’s first biodegradable stretch denim”, is made from organic cotton wrapped around a natural rubber core, making it plastic-free.

Co-owner and global manager of Candiani, Alberto Candiani, commented at the time of Coreva’s initial launch: “In a world where resources are diminishing and landfills are overflowing with discarded garments, we must look for renewable resources, in addition to biodegradable and compostable materials.”

Mr Candiani reportedly seeks to make his company “the greenest mill in the blue world”.
