Outland secures funding from 886 new investors
Australian brand Outland Denim recently welcomed a total of 886 new shareholders, each investing a minimum of roughly $150 (AUD $206) in the company via local equity crowdfunding platform Birchal.
The total raised by end of the funding round was around $670,000 (or exactly AUD $896,798.34), according to Birchal. Outland said it reached its minimum fundraising goal within 24 hours.
In a LinkedIn statement, the denim brand thanked its latest investors. “Thank you for joining the Outland shareholder community in using fashion and business as a force for good,” the company commented.
Outland helps women who have been impacted by human rights abuses by offering them employment as seamstresses in its production facilities in Cambodia.
