Jeanologia taking Atmos 'revolution' to ITMA

Valencia-based technology developer Jeanologia’s new atmospheric washing process, Atmos, is due to take centre stage inside its dedicated exhibitor area (stand H14 C208) at the International Textile Machinery Association (ITMA) show in Milan from June 8 to 14.
Company co-founder and president, Enrique Silla, called the technological breakthroughs behind Atmos, which can deliver controlled, automated abrasion and “natural” aging effects without use of water, chemicals or pumice stones, “the most important revolution in blue jeans since [Jeanologia] launched the first textile laser in 1999” in celebration of its debut at Kingpins Amsterdam last month.
Atmos' development brings Jeanologia another step closer to completing its Mission Zero project, initiated in 2021 as part of efforts to reduce water usage and pollution during jeanswear production to "close to zero”, or even render both redundant, by 2025. It hinges upon seamless integration of the company's G2 ozone and Indra systems, which can similarly be connected to other technologies in its ecosystem.
Marketing director, Carmen Silla, echoed Mr Silla’s sentiments while also expanding on Indra’s role in creating Atmos effects on the surface of denims. “Thanks to Indra, we can achieve perfect control of the humidity and atmospheric temperature to achieve exceptional garment abrasion and discolouration,” she said.
“We attain the same effects that were previously only possible with water, chemicals and pumice stones, while ensuring perfect reproducibility and enhanced productivity in a more efficient, sustainable and safe way.”
