Paolo Gnutti: Everything starts with a story
An immersive experience that enabled visitors to understand the thought process behind some of the fabrics in ISKO Luxury by PG’s new collection was presented in The Boxes at Kingpins Amsterdam – an area dedicated to inspiration at the entrance to the trade fair.
Paintings from Paolo Gnuttti’s personal collection – including the Blues Brothers, Madonna and Audrey Hepburn – helped to tell the story of inspiration, brought to life by sound clips from corresponding films that visitors listened to on headphones.
The was to idea to meld together fashion, art and cinema, Mr Gnutti told Inside Denim.
“Every time I go outside there is something that captures me and inspires the collection,” he added. “For instance, when I travel to Japan or France, I take new concepts and spin them into a new story. Everything starts with a story. It’s the most fun part of my work.”
The Born to Amaze collection is described as “an emotional journey, a challenge to the limits of creativity”.
The five capsule collections for spring-summer 2026 are:
• Godmather: A capsule inspired by the 1950s, featuring lightweight indigo fabrics adorned with glitter stripes and flock, blending classicism and innovation
• Tattoo Denim: mixed-printing techniques such as corrosion; indigo, white or sulfur-dyed coloured base fabrics are transformed into “paintings”
• Aurum Denim: light and soft weights made with very fine yarns and coated with real silver
• Noble Denim: includes fabrics blended with linen, wool and cashmere; and
• Wrap Denim: inspired by the customisation work of the ateliers in luxury car workshops, using applications like laminates, foils and frostings.
