Isko Luxury by PG journeys from Venice to the tropics

Designer and denim expert Paolo Gnutti will present Boundless, his latest Isko Luxury by PG fabric collection in partnership with Turkish producer Isko, at trade fair Denim Première Vision in Berlin between May 31 and June 1.

The line-up encompasses Venetian-inspired jacquards in “precious” gold, silver and silk yarns and laser finishes (“Casanova Denim”); a range of flocked denims and customised three-dimensional effects after tropical Maldivian reefs (“Reef Denim”); coloured “sparkling, luminous and unique” foil finishes evocative of 1970s nightlife (“Disko Denim”); and “Peach Denim”, a “chameleon-like” assortment of “vintage to clean” looks via logomania and “any effect that can be recreated in the laundry or by hand washing”.

Vicenza-based Mr Gnutti, who also serves as chief executive of his own company, PG, in addition to his role as Isko Luxury by PG creative director, commented: “I closed my eyes and let myself be transported to my favourite countries, including, of course, Italy and, specifically, Venice… the city where my mother was born and grew up.

“I remember when she [would take] me to see the historical weavings of the Serenissima and I [saw] with dreamy, curious eyes these incredible Baroque fabrics made on antique jacquard looms. I have tried to bring these emotions back into this new collection in the hope of bringing them to life for my customers as well.

“I have focused on reducing the laundry stages by relying more on laser and latest-generation chemicals, which greatly decrease water consumption, are truly eco-friendly and [can] speed up production.”
