Glovemaker to the stars creates denim showstoppers

Amsterdam-based brand G-Star has enlisted designer Thomasine Barnekow to create limited-edition gloves using raw denim.
The Swedish designer has an own-brand base in Paris and has worked with fashion houses including Mugler and Maison Margiela. Her designs have been worn by Beyoncé, Margot Robbie and Kim Kardashian and graced multiple front covers.
She told G-Star: “For decades, hats, bags and shoes have been important parts of companies, whereas gloves started to fade away. When I started in 2008, they really were a forgotten accessory, for a while there were no gloves in photo shoots or fashion shows. But 15 years later, a lot has changed.”
She added lambskin and zips to provide comfort and stretch. The gloves retail at €450.
