Shein started working with NTX in 2021, whose technology not only saves water and energy but also simplifies production cycles. In tests by Bureau Veritas, the process has been found to reduce water usage by up to 70.5% compared to conventional denim washing methods.
Cool Transfer Denim Printing uses a transfer film to apply denim-like patterns and fades to a white twill fabric, and even prints the back of fabrics with authentic-looking undyed warp motifs. The innovative process does away with indigo warp dyeing, removing a major step in the chemistry of denim manufacturing. This technology allows Shein to accelerate product development and design processes in line with its speed to market business model.
The trompe-l’oeil jeans made possible by digital printing offer a new level of efficiency in denim making, as well as greater creative freedom for designers.
Denim Dudes recently dedicated an Instagram post to digital printing, finding that the results can be stunning and specifically mentioning Stella Blu’s WOW (Without Water) tech. The Prosperity Group’s division helped develop the process with NTX.
