Soko delivers finishes for Goldschmied’s knitted indigo range

Adriano Goldschmied, through his Daily Blue brand, has teamed up with chemicals company Soko and Taiwan-headquartered Knitdigo to create a line of knitted indigo fabrics that can be finished to look like woven fabrics – known for its technical difficulty.

The Italian chemicals company used its new Soko Authentica product and its Soko Lumia, which works in dry ozone, to “elevate the quality of the washes” and “open up a new category of jeans and knits”.

Soko’s managing director, Matteo Urbini, said: “Our mission is to simplify processes while making high-quality, accessible products that deliver outstanding results to everyone. So, when industry visionary Adriano Goldschmied approached us to explore a new product category, we immediately said yes.”

Soko recently launched its Projects Division, which creates washing solutions for brands and fabric makers.

Knitdigo was founded in 1981 in Taipei to create denim with enhanced comfort, which led to the development of Knitdigo—a fabric that combines knit and indigo. The company operates the indigo dyeing, knitting, garment manufacturing and laundry. The rich colour is achieved using traditional Japanese rope dyeing techniques.

The collection will be launched at Kingpins Amsterdam on October 23 and 24.
