Denim manufacturer Artistic Milliners recently joined the Apparel Impact Institute’s advisory body, Apparel Impact Roundtable, linking with partners including Gap, Target, PVH (which owns brands such as Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein) and Arvind Mills.

Managing director at the Pakistan-based mill, Murtaza Ahmed, commented: “This decade is all about people and the planet. We are thrilled to join the Apparel Impact Roundtable to help drive the strategic scale and implementation of sustainable initiatives.

"Our common goal is to advocate for a green supply chain and work together to foster an inclusive ecosystem contributing to climate positive actions and social fairness.”

Artistic Milliners is currently working on regenerative farming of cotton and has committed to achieve zero liquid discharge by 2025.

Reportedly, it is the only denim company with a dedicated renewable energy setup. The mills’ wind farms will supply clean energy to more than 50,000 households in 2021 and it has plans to invest in solar and hydro energy plants.
