Isko joins Dutch Denim Deal
Turkey based denim mill Isko has announced it has joined the coalition of denim industry companies that are a part of the Dutch Denim Deal, a cross-industry circular denim platform launched by the Dutch government. This brings the number of partners to some 40 companies working together to close the loop and increase the amount of recycled post-consumer fibres in jeans.
The goal of the programme is that its members collectively produce 3 million jeans having at least 20% post-consumer recycled cotton (PCR) by the end of 2023. In addition, they have committed to working towards integrating a minimum of 5% recycled textiles in all denim clothing as soon as this can be achieved.
Mills that are collaborating with the programme include Bossa, Orta, Calik, Ereks, Kipas, AGI Denim, DNM and Soorty. Brand and retailer parties include House of Denim, Kings of Indigo, Mud Jeans, Scotch & Soda and PVH, to name a few.
“The Dutch Denim Deal fits perfectly into Isko’s circular strategy,” said Marc Lensen, head of communications. “Our scale and knowledge of sustainable technological solutions will increase the overall impact and accelerate circularity in the denim chain.”
