Elasticity & authenticity in new Isko Reform range

Its latest market research investigated evolving consumer attitudes across North America and Europe. It found that stretch jeans have not lost their high ranking in consumer wardrobes, and comfort and elasticity remain key, by a large margin, Mirela Slowik, category leader for stretch & performance technologies at Isko, tells Inside Denim.
Exhibiting at Bluezone this week, the company presented its new range of ‘Reform’ denims that feature high-performance engineered elasticity. This category covers three different levels of elasticity. Isko Reform HP fabrics have an elongation of 40 to 60%. These are said to offer a ‘comfortable but firm feel’. Isko Reform XP denims, whose elongation spans 80 to 100%, are said to allow jeans to ‘move with the wearer’ and offer a high level of recovery. Isko Reform 100 denims, boasting an elongation of 100%, offer an additional measure of elasticity that gives the wearer more freedom, said Ms Slowik, who added that this range “enhances the silhouette much like contouring does in cosmetics.”
“These fabrics will not place any pressure on the body, they offer long-lasting performance. They won’t bag or sag, and won’t need to be washed so often,” she told Inside Denim. “The macro trend is for authentic rigid denim looks, and the fabrics in the Reform range are absolutely suitable for looser styles and straight leg jeans.”
