Isko's R-Two50+ blend is at least 50% recycled
Inegol, Turkey-headquartered denim manufacturer Isko has introduced its latest innovation, R-Two50+, containing a minimum of 50% recycled content and produced using a patented yarn spinning technology.

The fabrics have passed Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification and, according to Isko, can reduce carbon emissions by up to 45% and water usage by as much as 65%.

The company also stated that it had achieved an environmental, social and governance (ESG) scoring. It elaborated to say that it is the first in the fashion market to have done so.

Head of sustainability at the denim-making firm, Ebru Ozkucuk, commented that Isko was extremely proud of R-Two50+.

She added that the industry must now work together to create a “credible” sustainability roadmap, in order to try to eradicate greenwashing. This would include calculating the carbon footprint of products and processes, Ms Ozkucuk said.
