Naveena expands stretch options

Pakistan-based denim mill Naveena presented at Kingpins an expanded range of stretch denims addressing a wide array of demands from comfort to convenience to circularity.

Its newest range, known as Mecha-Stretch, is a family of 100% cotton denims made from a specially spun yarn and having a mechanical stretch weave construction. They give the denim fabrics an elongation of 15 to 25% without the addition of any stretch or synthetic fibre. “This is a fabric for companies really looking to push circularity,” Aydan Tuzun, global sales and marketing manager for Naveena Denim Mills.

Mecha-Stretch adds a whole new option to the company’s established stretch ranges. Dualistic, a concept developed in tandem with The Lycra Company, infuses denim fabrics with enhanced durability, breathability, and an elongation of 30 to 35%, without elastane, she said. Naveena’s Tricore technology avoids the puckering effect that elastane sometimes generates in jeans.

Self Fit is the mill’s most “inclusive” range, said Ms Tuzun. One size of jeans can cover two sizes down and two sizes up, thereby offering comfort across five sizes. “This concept is made from brands who develop products in S-M-L sizes and it is also a good option for online sales as it allows a brand or e-tailer to stock fewer different references,” she said.

The company’s denim fabrics made with Circular System’s AgraLoop fibres, which are derived from seed or CBD hemp waste, are close to coming to market as a major US-based retailer has plans to introduce jeans made in Naveena’s Biotech fabric range.
