Siddiqsons prepares to double garment capacity

Pakistan-based mill Siddiqsons is set to open a second garment-making facility, which will almost double its production from 700,000 pieces per month to 1.2 million.

The group makes 40 million yards of fabric per year, much of which it sells to garment makers; the extra capacity will mean it consumes more of its own fabric in-house.

The Karachi-based state-of-the-art-facility includes a laundry equipped with Tonello machinery and technology.

One of the mill’s specialities is its ability to do true indigo knits, where the yarn is dyed and then knitted, said a spokesperson.

The groups also undertakes charitable work through the Aziz Rafi Trust; donating to schools and colleges, and providing a free IT centre for employees and locals. It donates to The Health Foundation (Pakistan) and Aasra Society, pays into an education fund for employees’ children and organises sports days and firefighting training for locals.
