Inaugural Denim Deal collections on show at Kingpins
The Denim Deal, an initiative to promote the use of post-consumer recycled cotton in jeans, has presented a series of collections at Kingpins Amsterdam. The organisation says these provide proof that circular denim is ready to scale. The 19 items of Collection 1 were made by Turkey-based Denim Deal partners Sharabati, Kipas and Ereks Blue Matters along with Dorlet, for accessories, and PDNA, a transparency and traceability platform.

Members of the recently established Denim Deal Hub in India made Collections 2 and 3. The first of the two was produced by Raymond Uco and is on show at Kingpins, the second was made by Bhaskar Denim. Other partners include Envia and Gats, project leads, along with Recyclr and Green Story, which provided the digital product passports for both collections.

In each case, local networks were harnessed to bring these products to life, mirroring how the Denim Deal intends to achieve its target of have 1 billion jeans made from 20% post-consumer recycled cotton.
