AGI eyeing ‘a different league’ with The Agency

Karachi-based vertical manufacturer AGI Denim (Artistic Garment Industries) has announced new in-house creative hub The Agency, so positioned to “offer a service that will set us in a different league,” in the words of executive director, Ahmed Javed (pictured).
“We’re at source, which is quite unique, so that we can have design integrated throughout the entire development and production process,” explained creative director, Carl Chiara.
“We have a completely holistic approach to product creation. Our R&D teams in garmenting, as well as in fabric and fibre, allow us to work with the fibres, taking us through spinning, weaving, garmenting and then, finally, wash.
“There is a team of designers, working not only on research for brands, but also on product creation and concept work to stay ahead of market trends and be ready for when those trends hit.”
At its core, the idea is to help denim brands elevate both their product and overall company image through co-creation, building on AGI's own internal innovation, priviness to trends and speed to market, Mr Javed continued.
The objective, then, is “to bring to the market a unique service as part of our value proposition”, he said, extending operational capabilities beyond “just [those of] a regular supplier” to present customers with more of a 360-degree offer.
