AGI Denim’s giant Apparel Park will move beyond denim
Pakistan-based mill and manufacturer AGI Denim has announced a $30 million investment in the first phase of its new LEED Platinum-certified Apparel Park.

The facilities will be capable of producing new apparel categories in addition to the jeans the company is known for, such as non-denim woven bottoms.

AGI Denim's Apparel Park will have a capacity of 20,000 units per day.

In phase two, the company will build a state-of-the-art laundry with a capacity of 20,000 units and an additional sewing capacity of 10,000 units per day.

AGI Denim is aiming for an end-to-end LEED-certified value chain with a LEED spinning mill, a LEED denim mill, a LEED Platinum garment unit, and the new Apparel Park.

The focus of the Apparel Park will be on responsible manufacturing, introducing new product categories, and an inclusive and diverse workforce. Developments in areas including green energy, manufacturing excellence, and sustainable infrastructure are part of the Apparel Park's construction.

The facility will aim to create a responsible manufacturing ecosystem that will operate on 25% renewable energy, such as solar panels that move with the sun to reduce reliance on traditional energy and fossil fuels.

For water conservation, AGI Denim plans to incorporate rainwater harvesting and a greywater recycling system in the facility. The recycled water will be further used for domestic purposes such as plantation.

The company will install low-energy LED lighting, ventilation systems and design infrastructure to allow ample natural light through large windows, enhancing utility efficiency and improving ambient temperature. As part of its plans, the company also aims to go paperless and eventually eliminate the usage and wastage of paper.
With the industry's rapid adoption of Industry 4.0 systems, the Apparel Park will have an automated sewing hanger system and fully automatic sewing machines.

A post-industrial waste sorting and collection system will be implemented to ensure a smooth mechanical recycling workflow.
The Apparel Park will have a dedicated floor with a 70% female workforce. This initiative aims to empower women, promote gender equality, and create an environment where they can excel professionally. The company also aims to provide benefits such as micro-loans and healthcare services through digital platforms. The company has also arranged to support individuals with special needs and transgender individuals, ensuring equal working opportunities for everyone.
