AGI-made Circulose denim keeps time with Lamborghini
Fabric from Karachi mill AGI Denim forms the canvas and artwork label of a new painting by Bulgarian-born, US-based artist Kiril Jeliazkov, created in celebration of Automobili Lamborghini’s sixtieth anniversary.

The piece, titled Beyond Sixty Energy, will be on show at the Lamborghini Lounge in Manhattan’s Chelsea, as part of the Italian luxury carmaker’s ‘60 Years of Artistry in Motion’ exhibition, which will be open to the public between December 15 and 16.

AGI’s Gallery@ arm facilitated production of both the canvas and its identifying label. The denim was woven from fibres made with Renewcell’s Circulose brand of cellulose dissolving pulp, manufactured in Sweden from 100% recycled textile waste such as post-consumer jeanswear, then indigo-dyed and finished using recycled water and “a special technique” in its LEED gold-certified facilities, in order to meet “fine art standards”.

US fashion business Treun House Atelier sponsored the making of the “exclusive” denim canvas fabric.

Vice-president of marketing and product development at AGI, Henry Wong, also the gallery's director, commented: “Our organisation is made up of so many eager, creative talents and we do not shy from any chance to show off our cutting-edge innovations.

“This was a great opportunity for us to take part in this project for Lamborghini, who has for six decades never stopped pushing the boundaries through artistry and technology.

“We hope we have done our part in inspiring creators of all disciplines.”
