Sharabati presents shuttle-loomed Loomers

Egypt-based Sharabati Denim has launched Loomers, a new line of exclusively shuttle-loomed selvedge and gabardine denims woven on 140 original Ruti looms.
The manufacturer said that, while it continues to invest in new technologies and "sustainable" processes, it also values heritage and artisanship, and had been planning on establishing its own selvedge mill “for a very long time”.
Loomers’ debut collection comprises seven different fabrics in pure indigo and black, including various gabardine weights and effects. One of the fabrics is a hemp blend, “to give [a] more heritage look and soft touch”.
Sharabati has an annual capacity of 140 million metres and can make four metres of its Loomers denim per hour.
