Rick Owens unveils Japanese denim collection

Paris-based, American designer Rick Owens unveiled a Japanese denim collection recently, available exclusively from Rick Owens flagships stores and Self Edge. 

The Kurashiki, Okayama prefecture-made denim is crafted from 13.75-ounce selvedge denim, woven by the Yamaashi Orimono mill on vintage Sakamoto shuttle looms. 

Key features include a selvedge waistband detail, with belt loops sewn into the waistband for added strength and a chainstitch hem created with a 1960s Union Special 43200G industrial sewing machine.
