Vicunha and Polygiene team up in regional first

Brazilian denim manufacturer Vicunha’s latest collection features Stays Fresh technology by Polygiene, a Swedish specialist in anti-odour technology for textiles.  

The offering marks the first time that denim has been treated with a combination of Polygiene’s BioStatic and OdorCrunch technologies in Latin America.  

This recipe will not only help inhibit the growth of odour-causing bacteria and remove environmental odours, but also contribute towards the need to wash the denim garments less, the Malmö-based company said. Denim’s form, fit and colour will benefit from this, it added.  

“The partnership with Vicunha is a milestone for us in the denim segment and a breakthrough in the Brazilian market in general,” Polygiene’s chief executive, Ulrika Björk, stated.
