Denim Deal opens new chapter

A new logo, a new geographic zone, the introduction of approved fabrics and a booth at Bluezone: the Denim Deal is officially presenting today its plans going forward.

As was suggested at a panel talk earlier this year at Bluezone, the Denim Deal plans to expand its project beyond its initial focus on the Netherlands to other major denim markets. As one of Europe’s leading economies, Germany is a good place to start.

The organisation is presenting the very first Denim Deal Approved fabrics produced by its member mills. They must be made from at least 20% post-consumer cotton as well as conform to a set of quality and performance standards drafted by Denim Deal members Garcia, a jeans brand, and Modint, the Dutch textile and apparel industry body. Fabrics currently on show have been made by Advance Denim, AGI Denim, Bossa, Calik, CBL, DNM, Kipas, Maritas, Naveena, Orta, Realteks and Sharabati.

Finally, the organisation is also ushering in a new logo in the form of a modified infinity sign, which was made possible thanks to support from Pakistan-based mill Soorty. It will serve to make Denim Deal compliant fabrics and products more visible.
